AnimAction TEAM Awards
For the tenth consecutive year, Clifford Cohen's company, AnimAction, has presented the prestigious TEAM (Tobacco Education Awareness Message) Awards. AnimAction created a twelve hour animation workshop, allowing middle school students to create their own non-smoking public service announcements. The TEAM awards were designed to honor the best PSA's. AnimAction works in conjunction with the L.A.U.S.D. Division of Instruction, Health/Drug, Alcohol and Tobacco Education (D.A.T.E.) Programs Unit. The program has been funded by Proposition 99, excise tax on tobacco products. This year, twenty-seven middle schools participated. Winners were chosen from over 400 PSA's, produced by 4,200 students. Winners for 2001 will be posted in March.
